A new and exciting opportunity has arisen within our Accommodation provision. We are looking for an ICT & Employability Skills Trainer to work with our residents to improve their skills and confidence in IT and when seeking work.
About the role
As an ICT & Employability skills trainer you will be supporting adults in the accommodation service to feel empowered and gain confidence around using ICT in their daily lives. You will have the opportunity to help develop their skills for employment through a variety of methods including group work and individual sessions. In this creative and rewarding role, you will enable clients to develop and acquire relevant skills. You will provide innovative and high quality support helping to ensure that clients:
- Gain confidence in using ICT equipment
- Have access to volunteering and work experience opportunities
- Achieve their goals and aspirations
- Feel empowered to make decisions and choices around their future
- Are kept safe
About you
We are looking for someone with a qualification in ICT and, a qualification or relevant experience, of teaching adults ICT and employability skills. Our ideal candidate will have excellent organisation skills and experience of developing, planning and delivering a programme of learning for clients with varying levels of ability. You will have a can-do attitude and the passion and drive to help people gain confidence in their daily lives and feel empowered. We need someone who has excellent written and verbal communication skills, a patient and friendly approach and who can demonstrate a commitment to equal opportunities.
You will have the ability to think creatively and be reflective about what works best in teaching and learning, to meet the needs of the clients in a way that respects their individuality. You will have experience of helping to inspire and motivate students to develop their skills and enable progression. We are looking for someone who can work on their own initiative as well as in partnership with colleagues and external agencies.
