We are excited to share that theatre company Soundproofbox are performing at our Autumn Ball!
Soundproofbox deliver interactive theatre shows, creative workshops and talks on spotting the red flags in relationships and friendships. They employ 25 young actors across the region and have just been commissioned to take the show to America!
“We’re really excited to have them perform. Their plays are always really engaging and I’m looking forward to people’s reactions to it,” says Andy Ellis, Business Development Manager.
During the performance, the audience are asked to hold up red flags every time they see behaviours such as coercive control and domestic abuse. It prompts a discussion around why people think these behaviours are red flags.
Founder of Soundproofbox Lisa Bell explains: “I am a survivor of two domestic abuse relationships and also the mother of a teenage daughter. I think if I’d had education as a teen then it may have prevented me getting and staying in those relationships. I am passionate about educating the next generation not to turn their back on the signs of domestic abuse. I believe it is everyone’s responsibility in society.”
