You may have noticed that some of our social media content has been labelled as AI-generated. We want to be open about why this happens and set the record straight about how we use technology when creating images.
We do not use AI to generate images from scratch. AI-generated imagery can reproduce stereotypes and human biases, creating representations that do not reflect the real people, communities and experiences we know.
Why is some of our content labelled as AI-generated?
We use editing software for practical tasks such as removing backgrounds and changing colours. Some platforms currently identify these edits as evidence that an image was generated by AI, even though the original image was not created using generative AI.
Our commitment remains the same: to use authentic imagery that represents real experiences, and to be transparent about the tools we use to prepare it.
