A huge thank you to Land Aid who have awarded us with £27,000!
Land Aid bring businesses and individuals together from the property industry to strive towards ending youth homelessness. They support charities delivering life-changing services for young people who are or have been homeless, or who are at risk of homelessness in the future.
The money donated will be used to help clients aged 18-26 to move on from our refuges into accommodation of their own. Each client will have access to a maximum of £1500, which Can be used to pay 50% of a bond, or their first month’s rent, or used to purchase essential furniture for their new property.
“Staying Put have a number of young people coming through refuges and dispersed housing who simply do not have the finances to enable them to move to their own property very easily.” States Any Ellis, Business Development Officer. “This money will empower them to not only move into their own property but offers them some security too.”
The application process was tricky. We had to be considered by a local representative, before attending an interview with a regional manager before the Trustees made a final choice.
“Land Aid’s faith in what we do, supporting the victims/survivors of Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence, means we’re now able to do even more to help them find, secure, and furnish a new home of their own.”
