We would like to thank everyone who voted for us as part of Movement for Good Awards. We were one of 150 charities chosen to receive £1000 in funding.
The money used will enable us to buy emergency packs for people experiencing abuse. Often, when women leave a domestic abuse situation, they leave with nothing. Emergency packs have toiletries, clothes and toys for their children so they don’t feel so alone when they arrive at our refuges.
‘We’re really pleased to have been chosen, and thank you to all our wonderful supporters and colleagues who took the time to vote for us.’ Says Andy Ellis, Business Development Manager. ‘This means we’ll be able to help more women who are facing domestic abuse daily.’
The Movement for Good Awards is funded by the Benefact Group and is their annual programme of giving. This year, they’re giving away £1 million to charities and good causes.
Every month, charities get nominated to receive a thousand pounds, and the charity with the most nominations has a greater chance of winning the money.
‘We now stand a chance of winning £5,000 from the Benefact Group, as they also open ‘Special Draws.’ These work the same way as the Awards, where people vote for their favourite charity. We hope that people continue to nominate and vote for us.’
We will of course be updating our social channels with when and how people can vote for us in the Special Draw. Until then, help us continue our great work.
There are other ways you can support us as a charity. You can donate online, you can fundraise for us or you can raise money for us as a business.
