Support for male survivors
We understand that if you are a male victim of domestic violence, it can feel incredibly difficult to open up and tell someone about what you are experiencing. We also understand that it might seem as though all services are for women only, and that can be intimidating or perhaps unwelcoming.
One in six men will face domestic abuse throughout their life. It’s not as uncommon as you may think, and we are there for you. We provide support to all people who are experiencing domestic violence.
We have a specific male worker to support men experiencing domestic abuse. Whilst our workforce are predominantly female, they are trained to take calls from male survivors.
You will never be judged or interrogated. We are here to help.
If you do not feel comfortable speaking to us and would prefer to contact a men’s only advice line you can speak to:
Men Standing Up – 0300 303 0167, available weekdays 9am to 4:30pm
Respect – 0808 8010327, available weekdays 9am to 8pm
ManKind Initiative – 01823 334244, available weekdays 10am to 4pm
We are also here for you if you have experienced sexual violence, but if you would prefer to speak to a male-specific charity, contact Survivors UK.

We are a domestic abuse and sexual violence charity working across the Bradford area. We support women, men and children who are survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence.
We know that people experiencing domestic abuse heal quicker from the trauma if they can continue living in their own home with their support networks around them. Our service works to keep victims in their homes- hence our name Staying Put.
Solace Housing is a subsidiary of Staying Put. Their mission is to transform lives by providing housing to those who have experienced domestic abuse, with short- and long-term options. Their inclusive homes are for anyone who needs them.
